[Harp-L] tres cool site - Mox and the European guys

Recently a harp-L poster, Mox Gowland, evidently from Europe, posted about
playing in 12th position. I went to the site he mentioned and the
instructions are very interesting. In addition to himself and a classic song by Little
Walter, there are 5 other harpists, whose European names i can't pronounce or
spell <g>, who give short lessons. It's really cool - they actually show
the front of a harp and cleverly show the notes being played - blow, draw,
variations of bends, vibrato, etc. Most they show the excerpt in 4 sections, so
you know where the song exerpt is at. There are buttons to enable you to
stop, start, etc. This internet never ceases to amaze me.
It should be a very good tool for learning, IMO especially for intermediate
to beginner harpers - that is, all except Mox's submission. Mox's is the
most advanced instruction of the 7 presented. He plays his excerpt in 12
position (key of F on a C harp). An unfortunate omission of the website is the
position, key of song and key of harp used.
But not only does he play in 12th position but Mox tongue blocks octaves,
bending on the left side while playing on the right side of his tongue. All
this is visually shown with 2 harps while you get to listen simultaneously.
Great technique and amazing technology, imho. Everything on the site is done
at a slow tempo.
Here's the website: http://www.harmopoint.com/ First u have to click on a
flag so it reads in your language. Then u have to left click your mouse and
drag the edges of pages, to reveal the contents -- kind of a pain in the ass,
imo.
  Thanks, Mox.
