Re: [Harp-L] What is wrong with this statement?

OK, I'll bite..

<<All together the C harmonica—and all other types of diatonic harmonicas>>

The key of the harp seems irrelevant to the rest of the paragraph.

<<allow you to play 20 different pitches, but just seven different notes, by playing regular blows and draw notes.>>

Assuming that you mean Richter the 2 draw and 3 blow are the same pitch so there would be 19 unbent pitches. But since the statement says "and all other diatonic harmonicas" you'd have to include Paddy and Melody Makers where the 2 draw and three blow are not the same pitch (20 pitches) but still provide 7 diatonic notes (the diatonic scale is 7 notes).

Was it intended to be a trick question?

Peace, music and a Merry Christmas (or whatever you observe),
Dave
