Similar cases are numerous. One harp example comes to mind.  "Suicide Blonde" 
by INXS was largely based on Charlie Musselwhite's hypnotic  guest playing.

I wonder who set the delay  for Mr. Musselwhite on that? I've found that a 
lot of the time too much delay  gets in the way, but it's perfect in that song.
