Vern Smith's suggestion was better than yours, because you won't have to make or buy your whistle. I have another suggestion, but you'll have to buy or make this one: a slide whistle. It's got more range than an octave, and it's blow only. No painful draw notes, no bending or overblows needed. HOJO.
