[Harp-L] recording practice/gigs

Hey list,

Recording gigs & practices is the best learning & motivational tool I've
found. It can also help to influence your band to be better listeners &
accompaniests. Warning: It can be humbling!!
Inexpensive recording devices were always dissapointing to me, so I spent a
few bucks to get something that works great, is easy to use, & sounds
fantastic.

I love my Gigatracker bundle with the Archos Gmini 402, which includes a
killer little mic pre-amp. The pre-amp makes this rig exceptional. This unit in
it's case is roadworthy, easy to connect to mics, headphones, & to a PC (not
sure about Mac.) It is also a very good music/video player. I think I paid
around $600, not including a mic. I see it's going for $489 now.

I very much agree that for quality recordings you MUST have good mics.
