Re: [Harp-L] Embouchre and Lip Fatigue

sounds like you need a girlfriend ;-)

I hadn't gigged in a couple of weeks and this past
Friday we had a four hour gig.

I play mostly pucker, but I do tongue block in just
about every song.

Towards the end of the second set my mouth was
starting to cramp and was very fatigued the rest of
the night. I noticed that my upper lip does flex
some, no matter how I play, and I simply cannot keep
it TOTALLY relaxed. There were times when my lips got
so tired I could literally not play another note.

I have never had this happen before. It was very
uncomfortable and severely limited my playing. I woke
up the next morning not feeling too well and I don't
know if a bout with the flu added to the cramping.

Does anybody have any advice? Was it gig rust?

With my cupping, my finger does touch my lip when I
play, and I don't know if that was causing problems
too. It was wierd and I don't want it to happen
again!!!
