[Harp-L] power soak

Well I'm temporarily living in Colorado now
playing @ the Ritz Carlton 6 nights a week:.It could
be worse. Unfortunately, the room we're playing in
isn't well suited to the intense, relatively high
volume style of music I play. The way we've adapted so
far is to play a lot of jazz standards where
I'm blowing chromatic where I'm usually playing much
more diatonic through my amp. (In fact I
just blew some serious money on a '52 Fender Pro
(1-15) thinking I'd get cool tone @ low volume
(it's only 18 watts) but it's still too loud often.
Has anyone on the list tried solving the volume/tone
problem w/ a power soak ? I'd really be interested to
see what other harp players think of them as
a solution this perennial dilemma. I have to say I
love the badass tone from my Pro but it's pretty
wild and could use more treble.
For those considering checking out our scene here
who really dig the rockin' kind of blues, when the
weather warms up we'll playing outside to around a
thousand people apres ski style and
it'll be more of a full blown concert. (O.K. so I'm a
little homesick.I haven't seen my 6 yr. old son
Otis in over a month.)
