[Harp-L] Butterfield's rig

Someone asked about Butter's rig. Tho not an expert on his rig. I've read
that he often used an old black face Princeton. A year or so ago that amp was
on ebay, and Butter's son, Gabe, claimed that the amp had been stolen by an
associate of Paul's or Gabe's (i forget), after his father's death.
Acc. to many posts here on HarpL, as well as in G's terrific webite,
Butter primarily used a Shure 545S mic, wired for high impendence. Read about it
here: _http://www.angelfire.com/music/harmonica/shure545.html#intro_

One last thing which i mentioned on Harp-L a few years back, much to the
chagrin, dismay, and disbelief of many a Harp-L'er, but one time i saw Butter
in NYC with several of his Marine Bands sitting in a glass of water. That
would have been about 1970 or so. It is apparently documented that in general,
PB didn't like to soak his harps because of the ensuing wood swelling
problems.
