[Harp-L] Band Pay Answer

I try to stay with the 100 a man rule. It is harder for a 5 -piece, but consider a DJ makes about 350-400 for a club date. (Some make 1400.00 for HS proms & Homecoming) If we play at the NJ shore, then we have tolls & gas (3.15 a gallon) to factor in, so it's never a 'clean' 100.00 The really sad thing is we live in the shadow of Phialdelphia with a bar on every corner and there is not 1 blues place to play anymore since 'Warmdaddys tanked'.. I also gave up on NYC for parking & other hassles...once & a while we get an AC casino around Mardi Gras or BBQ promotion..(haha)

It's all in the suburbs, festivals, wineries, resturants, blues societies, local summer concert seris & the occasional private gig. I intially get big interest from weddings, until I tell them there will be no macarina or 'I knew the bride when she used to rock & roll'...but if you want jump blues & 50's tunes we can do our 'thing'
We average a minimum of 24-30 + 2 charities( Being from NOLA,I had to limit the Katrina gigs!) dates a year, not to shabby for PT players..

Often you need to just have to 'sell' yourself better..my .02

Can you say duo?
