RE: [Harp-L] Re: Fender Blues Jr. Amplifier

I like to lug amps around to jams for a few reasons. Number one, it helps
keep me young and my arms strong; number two, I usually feel more
comfortable with my own amps than with somebody else's; and number three, I
always feel sorry for the drummers and keyboard players who have to lug tons
of equipment around so I carry stuff in solidarity. But no matter how much
I may bring to a jam, I can always bring it inside in one trip.

But Joe's right, sometimes it's best to just bring a harp case and a mic.

Why lug an amplifier around, if you are only going to be playing a few
songs?

You could travel lighter by purchasing a vocal microphone and running it
into the PA. Don't forget a cable.

If there are other harp players at the jams that you attend, ask them if you
can try their rig until you find something that you like.

If you really need an amplifier right away, it's fairly common to find a
used Pro Junior for $200 on craigslist in many major metropolitan areas in
the U.S.
