[Harp-L] Searching for a great medium size amp

I have been very happy with clones of the Fender tweed 5E5A Pro /5E7 Bandmaster /5F4 Super circuit. These amps have the same basic circuit but with different transformer and speaker configs- 1x15, 3x10, and 2x10 respectively. These can run 6L6 or 6V6 tubes if built with a power transformer that has both low and high power secondary windings, like those sold by Weber VST. My 5E5A head has switch selectable cathode/fixed bias and I use it with 6L6 tubes and cathode bias most of the time. It sounds great with a 2 x 10 cab and is even loud enough for some outdoor settings without micing. I use 6V6 tubes in a 5E7 combo kit from Weber VST and it is great with the stock fixed bias setup. The Weber kits of these amps are a great bargain, esp the 5E7.

The Fender 5C5 Pro (with octal preamp tubes and paraphase phase inverter) is also a fine medium size harp amp. A bit fatter and browner sound, but with less cut than a 5E5A.

HI,

I already have a Fender Bassman to which I'm very
happy with the sound but I have to carry it to every
jam and rehearsal, therefore I was wondering if anyone
could suggest another great amp that is not as big as
the Bassman and that would sound well on small bar's
jams.
