[Harp-L] Re: Geesh....so much about T. Morgan...

Geesh, I find it really hard to believe that anyone took this nickname thing seriously...it wasn't...
However , to correct things that really don't need correcting...

the local 47 book has TWO members with similar names
Thomas Morgan and
Tommy Morgan...

the Harmonica Morgan has (Harmonica) after it to save the OTHER T. Morgan from having to either keep telling callers that he isn't THAT Tom Morgan, OR to go out and buy a box of harps, practice nine hours a day for a decade or so , and try to siphon off some of Tom's work ......

it's not a nickname...nom de harp..whatever...

in any event some of you (and me, of course) have way too much time on their hands and probably could use the time spent on this "nickname" stuff to do constructive things....(again, me included)

PS...ANYONE who writes stuff like "I was called in to replace the track that XXXXX had done" on a list like this one, is showing exceedingly poor taste, insecurity and lack of class. It happens once in a while...but gentlemen don't mention it....we are professionals and our colleagues ....competition....are to be respected.

Thanks for tip Danny. You are a good friend and I
don't really like this area we're in here BUT this Jon
Kip (?) is wrong about a few things and I think Chris
M. is on the money. (1) If you look in your Musician's
Union Local 47 directory Mr. Morgan does use a handle
"Harmonica" Morgan. (2) Even Tommy Morgan is only
human and can't play chordally like a piano so if he
never told a composer it can't be played on a
harmonica he adapted it skillfully. Even Rachmaninoff
couldn't bend a note on a piano. (3) There are some
mighty fine musicians out
there with handles and this is really getting petty.:
Sonny Terry, Muddy
Waters, "Toots" Thielemanns, Norton Buffalo, Magic
Dick, "Dizzy" Gillespy, Stevie Wonder, Sonny Boy
Willimson, Little Walter, Ringo Starr. Make your own
list. My middle name is Steven by the way. I'm not
embarassed by it . You think Christopher Steven Smith
is a better rockin' blues name.? Maybe Sting should
back to Gordon Sumner.
