Fwd: [Harp-L] Replacement cover plates

harponline.com in Germany sells blank Marine Band covers; you may also
be able to order them from Hohner USA.

It is possible to unbend bent covers, but it takes some dexterity.

You can also install cover supports by taking a very short screw with
a 1-72 or 0-80 thread and screwing it into the back of the reedplate
behind the lip of the cover. This may not preserve it from the
butt-crush but could help with the hand crush.

Why the killer grip? Does it make the harp sound better? It might be
worthwhile studying a more relaxed way to gain mic airtightness (if
that's what this is about. See if you can make it about position, not
pressure. Study the positioning of hands, harp and mic that will give
you a seal with minimal pressure, then work on cultivating it first in
solo practice sessions, then in increasingly exposed circumstances
where the adrenaline level will rise.

Hi all,
can anyone suggest a source for the above.
I guess my grip is too tight and I have two Marine Bands which have
become distorted/crushed as a result, sitting on one of them didn't
help either!
  Any advice appreciated
  Sean.
