If you can play "in the groove" as a unit w/out a drummer, you've got a good 
thing going.

Most mid level musicians NEED the drummer to keep the time for them and/or 
translate it to the audience.

However, you may find that you can't play the music exactly as you did with 
the drummer. In other words, your band's sound can evolve into a different type 
of groove - just as infectious. The trick is to keep it loose. If it is blues 
or r&b influenced, try to really feel the beats 2 and 4 - not just you, but 
the bass/keys/guitar players, too.
