[Harp-L] New backup videos -- cheap --

Trying to find backup music or other players has always been a problem for
harmonica players. Here's one way to beat the band. Whether you play blues harp
or chrome.

Music Dispatch (musicdispatch.com) is selling its Hot Licks on VHS videos for
$5 each. There are about 30 titles, mostly blues, rock and jazz guitar
teaching videos.

But you don't have to play guitar to profit from them. At $5 each, you could
use them as a backup tape to play along with. And at $5 each, that's about
what you would pay to rent them!

Also, you might learn what the chord shapes (how the guitarist frets a chord)
that could help you when you''re trying to play along with the band. It also
would be good for ear training, too, because you get used to hearing what
certain chords sound like.

I got $728 worth of tapes (22 of 'em -- ranging in prices from $19.95 to
$39.95 for $110.
You have to put in a special code when you finish your order to get the $5 a
tape price. If you don't want to order on line, you can call the toll free
line and order over the telephone.

The way these videos work is that the teacher goes over the riff or parts of
a tune a couple of times and then puts it all together -- so while the guitar
player is trying to figure out what notes to fret, you just play along on the
harmonica.
