I have to respectfully disagree with my friend Mike.  

My feeling is that the hi-Z crystal mics are far more one-
dimensional than a broad-spectrum mic with high sound pressure 
capabilities, like the Audix.  Mind you, I don't own a Fireball, but 
I play through a low Z, broad spectrum, high SPL mic that's far more 
similar to the Audix than to a hi-Z bullet.  

The Spherex has an advertised frequency response of 60-7000hz, while 
the Fireball's is 50-15,000hz.  I don't see SPL specifications for 
the Spherex, but the Fireball is designed for up-close micing, with 
a SPL rating of 140db.  This is a critical factor many harmonica 
players overlook.  

Now, granted, if you're looking for that fat, overdriven electrified 
sound playing through a vintage tube amp, the Spherex might be 
better suited, but in my opinion that's very "one-dimensional".  A 
clean mic that doesn't distort can be used to feed a very diverse 
signal chain, with character added to the sound downstream.  Hybrid 
preamps, effects processors, EQs and all manner of things are far 
more effective and flexible when you start with a clean, broad 
signal.
