Re: [Harp-L] Stevie Wonder blues?

p.s. I just found the liner notes (such as they are) for High Heel Sneakers:

Single Tamla 54119, issued August 2, 1965
high heel sneakers (live)
(Robert Higgenbotham) Produced by Robert L. Gordy
funny how time slips away (live)
(Willie Nelson) Produced by Robert L. Gordy
Both songs—covers of a teen hit and a more adult song—are from the Motortown Revue show in Paris
and issued on this mono 45 three months before the full album. Sometime during its production
run Motown swaps out the B-side for “Music Talk,” a studio cut with one of the funkiest intro breaks of all time.
Incidentally, "Music Talk" is a 12 bar blues variation and features some harmonica. Mighty funky! It appears on the album "Up Tight".

With respect to the Stevie version of High Heel Sneakers, I don't think it was ever on an LP. In the "Complete Stevie Wonder" collection (from iTunes) it's listed in the "Additional Singles and Rarities" and a slightly shorter version of the same cut under the "Mono Singles" category. Not sure how many other 12 bar blues tunes featuring harmonica there are out of the 579 tracks, but if I happen to bump into them I'll be happy to let you know ;-).

I was listening to a 1965 broadcast of The Real Don Steele on KHJ radio when he played Little
Stevie Wonder's version of "High Heel Sneakers". That got me wondering, how many other
recordings are there of Stevie playing 12 bar blues? And what lp is "High Heel Sneakers" from?
