RE: [Harp-L] It's a Mad, Mad, Madcat World

Well, Madcat is on the list here occasionally so I'll let him have a
crack at it maybe. There was some real interesting stuff about how he
had to hunt Big Walter down in Chicago and so forth to set up the
lesson. I don't want to do the whole story disservice, and some of the
best part was that Madcat was playing when telling it to demonstrate
some of what was going on. The best part was when he was describing the
actual lesson, which pretty much consisted of:

Big Walter: <blows incredible blues riff> "Now you do it"
Madcat: <very weak attempt>
Big Walter: <blows incredible blues riff> "Now you do it"
Madcat: <very weak attempt>

and so on. I think Madcat said the lesson was $20, which was a lot of
dough back then. Surprised BW didn't make him bring a pint, which is
what a lot of the guys like Rice Miller would do.

Hi Bill,

Sounds like You had a lot of fun. Exactly what was that Big Walter
story you mentioned? If you don't mind retelling it.
