[Harp-L] Grandpa's music

I posted on here a few weeks ago about a myspace page I made for my grandpa,which had a track of him playing mandolin recorded recently. My dad comes forward with these two tracks Grandpa recorded in 1950 on a 78 record, he's playing guitar and singing "I Love You a Thousand Ways" and "The Day We First Met" My grandparents had the 78 in the basement for years, it was warped all to pieces, the needle would get airborne a couple times each revolution, so dad pressed it back into shape with some boards and C clamps. The record was so dirty and worn, it still wouldn't play, he cleaned on it for a few days, wore out several crayons with the old crayon-record trick, had to attach 8 quarters to the 78 needle to keep it in the groove, then he used a computer program to take out the crackle spikes one at a time. 
  One plus for grandpa on this, is he always said his company was put in for a citation for a pretty hard battle they fought in Korea in 1953 and was upset they never got it. In looking for background, I came across a Presidential Unit Citation from President Eisenhower for his company. I apologized to grandpa on behalf of Eisenhower for the 54-year delay in notification.;)
   
  Grandpa is a dominating figure, he's the reason all the men in my family play music. A lot of people can remember their grandpa playing music, but not many have tracks of their grandpa playing when he was 20 years old, so I'm pretty excited about it.
