[Harp-L] Re: Blue Sky

One thing about this song is that it's rarely played with a harp solo, as far I can recall. That said...

Here's a link to a version [I was there!!] of Blue Sky played by a band called Full Black Out, which is fronted by a singer/harper/rhythm guitar player [and friend of mine ;)] done during an outdoor festival in the fall of 2005. The lead singer, tho', is a female friend of the band with Kris [harper] on harmony. Kris takes quite a bit of a harmonica solo midway thru the tune. [My son's on keys, BTW. ;)]

I think Kris Kolp is one of those immensely skilled, and multi-talented, harmonica players out there today who, like so many, deserves much wider recognition. Their band just gets tighter by the minute and Kris writes a lot of the material himself as well. My son Tony only joins them when he can schedule it in, but it was his first band and he's always welcomed to sit in for full sets whenever possible. Check out their other stuff, including the full show [with Tony on keys - he played with 4 bands that day alone] from November 2006's "Down on the Farm" music fest in nearby Quincy, Florida.

BTW, for some reason, I found the Lo-Fi version of Blue Sky the most stable today when I downloaded a listen.

Best to all,
Bobbie
