So many seem to have missed the point of Glenn's post. Quoting solos and  
pieces of other music (Flintstone Theme, for instance) is ok as part of the  
repertoire, but when a "major name" harmonica recording artist performs complete  
transcriptions of other's solos - note for note - in other songs without 
giving  respect or mention to this fact, it just seems somehow dishonest or 
thieving  from a moral standpoint. If I'm not mistaken, Glenn heard this occur more 
than  just once during a single performance.
 
It's one thing to perform "Juke" note for note. This is a reproduction of a  
complete piece of music and is usually prefaced by "Here is a version of 
Little  Walter's immortal 'Juke'. It's also ok to perform "Whammer Jammer" as is - 
this  one doesn't even need an introduction, as it is so firmly imbedded in 
the  consciousness of all us baby boomers as what it is. It's also ok to use  
transcriptions to further understand the creative mind of the artist and/or  
further one's learning. However, isn't the goal to play creatively like someone  
else, not play someone else's creativity?
