Subject: [Harp-L] plugins

If you're recording on your computer, here some free plugins (effects) I use on the harmonica. All these are available at kvr.com

SIR a convolution reverb (like amp modeling except this is room modelling choose a stadium or a bathroom or whatever). Very good. If you go to noisevault.com there are a ton of free models to choose from. Go to the expensive Lexicon settings and get some nice plate reverbs. SIR has a switch so the reverb goes backwards. Very psychedelic.

Kjerhaus has a classic delay with a nice slapback echo. They have a nice chorus and flanger also.

MDA has three interesting distortions, combo (supposed to sound like an amp) overdrive, and band distortion. Band distortion is very cool.

Cyanide 2 is an excellent distortion effect. With presets like "broken" and "3 bits is enough" don't be thinking pretty or warm.

Blockfish is a very good compressor.

And for $25.00 Multilens (multilens.com) is insane. It's a bank of filters with delay and distortion and bit reduction. Run the harp through the Multilens, the slap back echo and the SIR reverb and you have some seriously weird noise.
