IMHO Steve Baker would be a candidate for this list. He´s an awsome
player with unique sound. Being a harp professional for more than 30
years he´s recorded a vast amound of stuff, never any solo album
though. His work with Chris Jones is among my very favorite harmonica
recordings.
Steve´s influence both as a teacher and writer is enormous. His "Harp
Handbook" is probably the most important single book ever written
about the diatonic harmonica. Some of his students are among the most
outstanding players in europe today.
Finally he´s Hohner´s No1 tester and consultant regarding diatonic
harmonicas.

If you havn´t heard his recordings yet i can highly recommend
everything he made with Chris Jones or Abi Wallenstein.
