Being elite can be ego-less. Much less abrasive in a chat format.
Being elitist is ego driven - "downgrading and dismissing others somehow
elevates me" is the elitist's twisted fantasy - it only works in their minds and
turns off so many others. It hurts rather than heals (as was stated in
another excellent post on what Zen should be).
