You know, I didn't, I just read the excerpt.  I'll read the article.

And I realize that part of my reactionary tone comes from my own  
conflict over having damaged my own hearing from years of excessive  
volume.  It's been a hard equation for me.  I guess I envy those  
smart enough to draw the line.
