[Harp-L] minor key tunings

I've been using the Lee Oskar harmonic minor tunings for years now and find them a joy to play. It's not a blues harp, but it is a great chording and melody line instrument. If you're into group music, such as the Cats stuff, tunes like Besame Mucho, El Cumbanchero, La Cumparsita and Moonlight Rider can be easily done, no bending needed. Du Bist Mir Schoen, Song of the Volga Boatman, and Anniversary Song are others which work well on the harmonic minors.

If you're a solo act and like to create/improvise on the spot these are a lot of fun. A song like Sentimental Journey, played on a harmonic minor (chording) adds another dimension to music. The number of ethnic songs that can be played on the harmonic minors are endless. You can also use several harmonic minors at the same time for various chord patterns and key changes. You can also switch between natural minors and harmonic minors for some songs. The possibilities are endless.
