[Harp-L] Re: Old Man Looking for a Lighter Amp

Wolf, for small tube amps go visit Brian Purdy at Harp Gear. Brian hand
fabricates very nice small to medium dedicated harp amps (and more recently a
big 50 watt 4-10). Well built and sound wonderful. _www.harpgear.com_
(http://www.harpgear.com) Some of the other boutique guys are now making some
excellent smaller stuff as well (Sonny Jr. Cruncher - Meteor Mini Meat...) great
amps but significantly larger/heavier than the smaller Harp Gear
offerings... and you said you needed less weight. Most (all?) of the Harp Gear stuff
has a handy line out feature for when the amp isn't loud enough for the venue.
I'm not affiliated with Brian, but have met him a few times and have heard
only positive feedback about his amps... a good guy to deal with.

I have recently expanded my free "Harp Mic Buyers Guide". It grows in
spurts as the mood strikes. If anyone has an old copy or a copy you got from a
website link, you might want check with me about once a year for updates. I'll
send the guide via email to anyone who asks off list.
