Has anyone tried the '65 Princeton Reverb Reissue?
What are the opinions of it for harp?

Thanks

Sorry, no experience with the re-issue, but someone posted that it is
comparable to the original, so I will post a little bit here about the
original. I really like the original, but I think it can be a bit
harsh/trebly for harp even with the treble all the way down and the
bass all the way up. There is a guy over on the Weber Harp board who
has mucho experience modding these for harp (and I suspect those mods
could also apply to the RI -- contact me offlist if you want some of
tyhose details). Because I have other amps, I have not experimented
with modding the BFPR. However, I recently purchased a Lone Wolf "Tone
+" that is a harp-specific pedal that does some impedence matching and
has harp-specific designed tone controls. I find it makes the BFPR
sound richer and fatter for harp. Now I am not saying that one could
not play out with the amp stock, but I think the Tone + really fattens
it up. It is cool to have a pedal that does a fine job of "harping" a
guitar amp w/o internal mods to the amp -- especially if you have a
nice vintage amp that you would prefer top leave alone. Another
thought, the Silver Face PR's up to a certain year (sorry I don't know
what year),I believe have the same curcuitry as the BF and cost less --
considered a smart buy for a player. Maybe closer to the price of the
BF reissue -- and you get a hand wired piece of history. Obviously
everyone has their own priorities and tastes, but I thought I would put
this stuff out there FWIW. One more thought-- I have found that the
AFB+ pedal increases the usability of relatively smaller amps, like the
Princeton, by allowing significantly more volume before feedback.
