Re: [Harp-L] sound card

Hi

Like Rick i sometimes use a ART tube MP preamp into the line in of a
soundcard.
Mostly tough i use an external USB connected box called "M-Audio Fast
Track Pro". It has two combined Mic/Line/Instrument inputs, Phantom
Power and you can mix the input signal with playback from your
computer for monitor usage. It's a pricy solution compared to the ART
device of course.

You don't need (and don't want btw.) tremble or bass adjustment at
record time. Record the signal "as is" and post process in audacity
with the equalizer tool from your effects menu. You never know if you
want it in the final mix different from what you think it should be
at record time. Same with other effects btw. Recording a "dry" signal
should usually be preferred. You can add what you need in post
processing.
