$280 for a 5 watt tube amp with 8" speaker and a SPRING reverb (apparently not an electronic emulation, but the real thing) isn't out of line by contemporary standards. The Fender Champ reissue retails for $200, and it doesn't have a reverb of any sort in it, let alone a real spring 'verb. The Crate Palomino V8, also a decent harp amp out of the box, doesn't have reverb either.

The design sounds unusual too-a 12AX7 in the amp stage AND a 12AU7 in the preamp stage. Somebody thought hard about what kind of distortion harp players need. Add in the direct XLR out, which is a pro-level feature for sure, and you've got a pretty interesting piece of gear.

The question, of course, is what the the thing sounds like. But on paper, Hohner seems to have actually designed a harp amp with the right features to make a big, honking sound in a box that a pro can use, at a very reasonable price for the package (assuming decent build quality).

I'll look forward to seeing a review or two of this package.
