Re: [Harp-L] Stage Presence and Suzuki Pure Harp

The key is desire. I've run into lots of performers who say they want it. But the proof , as the say, is in the pudding. They won't get there without a change of heart.

Others have the desire but their fear runs so deep and wide that they will never get there without a major break through.

The players mentioned were probably all "running to the lake with their hair on fire." They got there because, in their hearts, they had no choice.

Respectfully disagree. All folks you listed didn't pop out of the womb with
presence, but had to work on it. Of course, the ones you mention have "made
it" after years of "going for it" and continue, to this day, to entertain.

That kind of charisma can be coached out of almost anyone who desires it.
Some achieve it quicker than others, as is human nature for most things.

Stage Presence, I hate to say it, I think is a rare gift, some folks have
it, most don't. Check out Rod Piazza, John McEuen, Eddie Murphy, Steve
Martin and others. When these gus walk on stage the audience is right with them.
That kind of charisma can't be taught.
