[Harp-L] Re: J.C. Seydel company

Hello, Dave Payne.

The book, "Harmonica Makers of Germany and Austria," by Martin Haffner and
Lars Lindenmuller, published by the Deutches Harmonika Museum, Trossingen,
Germany, is an excellent source for the stories of over 250 historic harmonica
companies of the region. It's the best source for research on the German and
Austrian harmonica companies.

According to the book, the J.C. Seydel harmonica company was founded in 1838
by J.C. Seydel in Untersachsenburg (now Klingenthal), Germany. It was active
until sometime after 1939. The company was an export and production company,
making harmonicas and other musical instruments.
