Re: [Harp-L] Slide Man Slim youtube post

Thanks for all those kind words, Michael!

One thing though...
the tone that Slim gets so far from the mic
It's kind of hard to see in the compressed video, but there is a teeny tiny wire sneaking out from between my hands. I use a Countryman B6 microphone attached to the back of my CX12:

So, actually, what you're hearing is an extremely close teeny tiny phantom-powered condensor mic ;-). This is the setup I gig with.

Hi All,

I thought this was really great. It is pretty amazing what technology can do, but what is most amazing is the tone that Slim gets so far from the mic. Fantastic tone and great licks. The technology is very handy for gigs and even more for practice. It's like having your own Band in the Box with real instrument sounds.

By the way, I have Slim's album "Topsy Turvy" and it is great. I highly recommend it. You should all check it out.

Michael

Hi Folks -

Just posted my first home video of me playing a duet with myself (guitar with looper, chromatic harmonica) to YouTube:

The tune is "How High the Moon".

If anyone digs it, I may do some more ;-).

- Slim.
