Re: [Harp-L] Some videos back up, new Gwen Foster vid up

Hi
Foster used an E harp in 1st position on "My Sweet Farm Girl" and a whole bunch more in the 1931-33 period. He seems to be playing it as easily as a G - truly amazing.

He'd be playing first position. Really, that's in F? It didn't sound that quite high to me. It sounded like it was around Bb, but I never checked it with a harp or tuner or something like that to verify.
Another shining example of a song that's entirely double entrende is Jimmie Rodgers, "Pistol Packing Papa," in which Jimmie was born with the pistol he packs.
Gwen like the sauce, I've heard Clarence Ashley used to tell him to drink some Moonshine so he could sober up....
I think it's come up before about whether or not the neck rack is a hinderance... it certainly was not for Gwen, he was playing a guitar while he does all this unreal, awesome stuff.
