Re: [Harp-L] Gary Primich tribute number

Gary was kind enough to let me sit in with his band the Mannish Boys
regularly when I first moved to Austin in 1989 and invite me to ride in
the band van on some out of town gigs. After I got established here, he
came out to a blues club I was running to conduct harp seminars with me
several times. He was an amazing player and a real gentleman.

I'd second the earlier recommendation for "Rootin' and Tootin'" as a harp
showcase, although my personal fave would be to do a song he used to do
regularly with the Mannish Boys - a 50's R&B number called "One Mint
Julep." He had a bit of a pompadour hairstyle back then and I fondly
remember him flipping the hair out of his eyes while singing "one mint
julep was the cause of it all....."

Rest in peace, Gary.
