Re: [Harp-L] Harmonica cover resonance study.

I took a very quiet (but sweet sounding) Chrometta and put covers on it from a Hering chromo. The result? DOUBLE the volume, AND more 'bite'. So, I am convinced that cover plates matter.

We had a discussion some weeks ago about full or partial covers on harps ,

One statement was that the cover is "only present to protect the reeds from
fingers and lips".
So I decided to find out, in as impartial manner as possible.
I have just documented the findings on FaceBook (Notes), in four articles,
and can confirm that the cover presence and conformation has a significant
effect on the sound emitted by a harmonica.

But we knew that all the time, didn't we?

The findings are in reverse order. Enjoy.
