   Just got back from the convention late last night.  Pretty wonderful
fest.  I know that people will have complaints about the hotel, the food,
the layout, the prices, etc.  But the big picture is that about 450
harmonica fans got together to make and listen to music, to buy stuff, and
to exchange information and knowledge.  All in the middle of a serious
economic recession.
   People don't know how close this thing came to being shut down.  The fact
that somebody high up decided to roll the dice on it and the people turned
out in these numbers is pretty remarkable.  I was only there from Thursday
noon on through the Saturday banquet.  I could fill up quite a few pages
just on what I observed.  The quality of the music I heard was way up there,
inspirational.
