I believe so. One learns to direct the air flow up and over the curved  
tongue at the proper spot/angle and also to increase the force by a decrease in  
the diameter of the passage. I also believe that the drinking straw will show  
that it is possible, but won't help you find that sweet spot needed to create  
this effect on your own.
