Re: [Harp-L] Re: Bill Romel

Hi All,

I was so saddened to hear this. Bill was a true student of harmonica engineering and a first class guy. If there is anything I can do, please let me know.

For those of you who didn't know Bill, he built the Virtuoso and other custom harmonicas that are true treasures of modern engineering as well as hand craftsmanship. Each of his instruments, combs and slides (etc.) got special attention. Bill spent many hours on the phone with me teaching me about harmonica construction and he crafted several harmonicas, slides and combs for me.

I will try to make an example of a tune I recorded on one of Bill's complete instruments he built for me.

Michael

Don't know if this old new on the list, but Betty Romel called and told me
of Bill's passing two nights ago from pneumonia. Bill was a great harmonica
technician and a good friend who will be missed.
