[Harp-L] Harp in an R&B/Soul Setting

Insomnia will make one do the strangest things... Like starting this one
up...
Besides Stevie Wonder, do we have many examples of harmonica in a R&B
(formerly known as soul) context?
I mean artists whose influences were either gospel or Blues such as Wilson
Pickett, Little Milton, the kinds of things Bobby Bland did that were more
R&B than Bluesy. And even someone like say Aritha Franklin?
I've never heard anyone do that, but when John brought up My Girl, it got me
to thinking.
It would seem, in order to make that work, you'd (as has become my mantra
lately) have to pay attention to the horns. Maybe you'd have to use less
than common positions on some of the lower harps to get warmth in the middle
registers.
So does anyone play "soul" type music at gigs?
Sound off!!
