[Harp-L] Harps race sitars to expressiveness

Speaking of race, my nephew Ravi, who played his Sitar with us at the recent Elmtree Blues Society Fete de la Musique Jam, just this morning came in First Place at the 4th of July Will Rogers 5k Run in Los Angeles!

It was wonderful hearing his sitar with lap steel and harmonica together, three extraordinarily expressive instruments (also with drums bass keyboard and guitar, it was a jam!)   Goes to show blues can be played on any instrument if your heart's in it.

And I remain pleasantly intrigued by Rob's apt mention of harp as the most expressive instrument, it sure is for me, but it's my only real instrument (working on percussion and I haven't found my singing voice yet!)

I'm not proposing a hierachy of axes, music is more personal than its tools, anwyay it's truly and deeply satisfying to have an instrument one feels somewhat able to express oneself through.
