One man's music is another man's noise. One of my very favorite examples of first position playing is the work that MK does on "Now That You're Gone" on the William Clarke CD by the same name. This song begs to be played in second but Mitch resists the temptation. There's nothing complex about it, but it displays MK's great control of the top end and enriches the overall sound and feel of the tune instead of stealing the spotlight. (Your mileage may, and probably will, vary.)
