[Harp-L] Rick Davis, wonderful person

Sorry to disappoint any of you that thought this was going to be a negative
thread; I just wanted to briefly say that Rick and I had a great
conversation on the phone, got to hear each other's voices, and I could not be
happier to finally know and understand a bit more about him. We have much of the
same passion for what we do, which when people are a lot alike, can
sometimes clash. However being able to put a voice behind the words, which I
admit my words can definitely not fully represent who I am, mainly on this list
or on the very difficult medications I Had to take, is the old school way
of dealing with questions. I hope we can build on this relationship which I
am positive we will, and I will do everything in my power to make sure
anything I post here will be nothing but good news, either with updates on my
new products, Sonny's stories or history, whatever it may be.
My new site will be fully updated soon, we have the new wording
to submit, and then I will work on a You Tube video to give a
representation of the sound. The Super Sonny is in full production, design modification
packages are fully documented for existing 410 owners. We will be trying
to video and tape Sugar Ray live at Chan's in Rhode Island on July 31st, as
he has the Super Sonny modification package, plus Charlie is Marshfield,
Mass. on August 23rd, where he will be using the Cruncher. Our problem has
been with this Sony 405 camcorder that I spent far too much money on, the
camera picks up sound in all directions, the first hot shue mic we bought was
horrible, we just ordered the best one they offer which will disengage the
camera's audio, and is a stereo mic.
I have stopped trying to make the Perfect video, I will Guarantee
there will be some clams, my main intent it to showcase the amp, my showcase on
harp will be at my seminars and first CD I am working on. Charlie and I
email basically every day, as many of us have this disorder where nothing we
play is good enough, no matter how good it was, what everyone else says, it
usually stems from a long history of being told by some authority figure,
usually family, that we are never good enough, it could always be better,
etc....
I personally am trying to break that mold, and hope this inspires
others to do the same, as the Shoulda, Coulda philosophy is just too hard on
ourselves. Life is too damn short to think this way. All be well. Gary O.
