RE: [Harp-L] Correction to SPAH Publicity materials regarding PJ Norris

Booking blues acts in the summer can be hard, because that's the time for a lot of musical acts to make hay during the summer festival season, and SPAH is not lucrative for anyone - it's a matter of giving back.

However, scarcity of talent had nothing to do with booking PJ Norris. I've always felt that he was an original voice and not just as a harmonica player, so I sought him out so that he could be presented to a wider harmonica public

Same goes for Christelle Berthon. There are harmonica artists out there who are not big names, do not have reocrding contracts, and yet who are fresh and original and worth presenting.

A few years back, Paul Davies saw a similar potential in Jason Ricci, who has since repaid that confidence many times over, both in musical creativity and in his commitment to heloping the harmoncia community.

Must be a tough time of the year to try and book blues acts.
