Re: [Harp-L] collard greens and gravy live at broadbeach blues festival/ lone wolf Pedals

I always set the vocal mic to suit the vocals and haven't really done a lot of experimenting with setting one specifically for harp, the main issues you need to address if you do are around excessive volume for the listener and feedback from the monitors. I generally only play into the vocal mic if I have good enough fold back that I can hear the harp when I am holding it off the mic with my hands closed, if you can do that you can manipulate the tone with your hands and prevent it from sounding to harsh or loud, then you can do all the wah stuff too. I am always hesitant to hold a harp straight on to a vocal mic set for vocals because it is often too loud out front and will probably feedback in the fold back.

I hope that helps

Ian

Ian,

Great stuff across the board! I went and took a quick peek at some of your
other posts and will go back again when time allows...really enjoyable
stuff, all the harp playing stays within the context of the song..very
professional, quality MUSIC...not just harmonica all over the place!

I have a question for you or anyone else on the list regarding vocal mic's,
specifically, How do you like to sey up the PA when playing and singing in
to same? Any preference on vocal/harmonica mic's or just use what's
supplied?

Thank you in advance for any info you can share.

Respects,

festival/ lone wolf Pedals

Hi Folks,

I'd like to share this video I just discovered on you tube of a recent
performance by my band Collard Greens and Gravy playing two songs at the
Broadbeach blues festival. I am using a new re-issue fender twin supplied by
the festival with the Lone Wolf Delay, Tone + and Harp Attack pedals which
are a great option for making not so great amps work for harmonica.

This gig was at 11.00 am on a Sunday morning. The songs are "Moanin at
Midnight" by Howlin' Wolf and "So long Baby" Goodbye by Sammy Lewis, I hope
you enjoy.
