[Harp-L] Help!

Barry,

In taking a quick listen to Hard Again, you are absolutley correct. Cotton is goose-steppin all over Muddy's vocals and Johnny's solos. Only he could get away with it! Butter is a much better example of 'non-steppin' playing or Big Walter Horton on Willie Dixon's "I Am the Blues"

Peace!

> Great advise for sure, but listening to Cotton to learn how not to step on the singer seems curious and is like watching Tiger to learn how not to win tournaments - isn't it really the opposite - absolutely love Cotton of course, but he'd step smack on your head to play a run of warbles, no? How about something more along the lines of Paul Butterfield on Fathers & Sons (or on Muddy's Live Woodstock album) instead?? Now he actually left some air for others to breath when he played the side-man role.
