Re: [Harp-L] Dead single reeds

I just try to use the same model harps, and keep all the dead ones,
robbing reeds from the corpses and transplanting them.
I've been playing for a long time, so I've usually got lots of stock.
Although some of our experienced technicians have understandably advised
against it, I frequently clip a reed to fill a shorter slot; I recently
replaced a reed in an XB40 with somethig I pulled and clipped from a
different model, and the thing was perfectly in tune, without any
further scraping.Thank you God!

Replacement reeds for Hohner Harps can be purchased from Harponline.de
in Germany.
http://www.harponline.de/shop/pages/frame.php?id=050100&title=Hohner&origin=navi&;

They also sell screws and a variety of tools. Just check
www.harponline.de and switch to English by pushing the button on the
upper left of the page.
