[Harp-L] Barkeeper's Friend

Is an abrasive that contains oxalic acid.
Think "oxyclean". This is why it works well on stainless steel, bronze, other alloys.
It removes gunk, oxidized residue...the verdigre on copper.

But it also is fairly abrasive and oxalic acid can irritate skin and eyes.

Bon Ami and or toothpaste usually contains milder abrasives.

Barkeeper's Friend is great stuff for stainless steel sinks.
It will also do quick work on heavily stained copper pots and bronze.
I've used it to clean various parts on boats, too.

But it will also leave copper with a dull-abraded, tho clean, look vs. a shiny, polished look.

If you're sensitive to chemicals, rinse very well.

And use a light touch when scrubbing your reedplates with BKF.
