Re: [Harp-L] harmonetta - thanks

The harmonetta info and leads have been coming faster than I can digest. This list is a tremendous resource. Thanks a lot folks!

Each button plays a single octave-tuned note (i.e., each note is actually played by two reeds tuned an octave apart). Blow and draw in the same place produces the same note 9what squeezebox players call "unisonoric"). Buttons are clustered so that any triangular cluster of neighboring buttons will play a chord with a single finger. Check out the tuning layout here:

Harponline sell a tutorial book for the Harmonetta for 8.95 euros, which would answer that question i imagine, trying to find an actual Harmonetta might be a bit more difficult though.

Good info and leads - thanks.

  More questions:

Does anyone know where I can find out how it is laid out? What notes are available in which holes, bow & draw? What effect does each button actually have? Etc.

I don't think I've seen an actual harmonetta (except maybe in a store window 35-40 yrs ago) and I sure don't know anybody who plays one. It looks like it would take a lot of wind but it also looks like it is 'truly' chromatic in both chords and melody. (?)

Anybody here play one or own one?
