Subject: [Harp-L] I just purchased a harmonetta on Ebay

Michael:

I very nearly bid on that Harmonetta on EBay...purely because I couldn't
see something so rare and beautiful disappear into oblivion. I'd thought that
if I decided not to learn to play it myself, the least I would do is bring
it to the next SPAH (or even GSHC) to offer it for sale there for whatever
it cost me on EBay, believing it should at the very least remain within
the harmonica community. I finally passed on it when it hit the $300 mark,
realizing a real player was bidding. What a fun way to get your feet wet
bidding on EBay.

I'm SO glad someone I know personally got it. What a thrill! It's a very
interesting looking instrument and I have on dvd (a copy of which was given
to Tom Stryker and will be sent to the other participants) a 2007 SPAH
seminar in which Bob Herndon participated, talking about and playing his
harmonetta among chromatic jazz players. I'll put you on my list of recipients
if you'd like.

I have wanted a harmonetta for around 5 years. If I outbid you,
hopefully there is no hard feelings. This is my first experience with
Ebay ever. It is very exciting. I will keep harp-l posted on my
explorations of the harmonetta.
